1. Your natural gas service consists of two main functions: 1) purchasing the gas and 2) distributing the gas.
2. Your gas utility will continue to distribute gas to your location and check for gas leaks and respond to emergencies.
3. But for purchasing the gas, YOU HAVE A CHOICE! You can select a licensed alternative natural gas supplier like Illinois Energy®. Your utility can only provide you one option for natural gas - a variable price. A variable price can fluctuate up or down depending upon many factors. Natural gas suppliers offer other options to fit the needs of the customer.
Would you like price stability? Do you want to know exactly how much you are paying per therm each month for the next 6 or 12 months? With a PriceGuard® plan from Illinois Energy, you can lock in your monthly per therm for the period of time that you choose.
Would you like bill stability? Do you want to know exactly how much you are paying each month for the next 12 months? With a Guaranteed Bill℠ plan from Illinois Energy, you can lock in your monthly amount for the period of time that you choose.
If you choose a licensed alternative natural gas supplier, your local utility company will still continue to distribute gas to your location and check for gas leaks and respond to emergencies. This does not change.

If you choose our Guaranteed Bill plan and lock in your natural gas monthly bill for the next 12 months with Illinois Energy®, you can avoid the potential for price spikes and fluctuations.
You can also lock in your per therm rate with one of our PriceGuard® plans. With our PriceGuard plans, you know exactly the price per therm you will be paying for each month of the contract. This is not offered by your utility so lock in your price per therm with us.
